Last year’s PPYC racing season was a big success! Everyone had fun and shared more than a few exciting moments. Those not up to putting their own boats in the races crewed on other boats, learning more about sailboat racing each time. Thanks to all participants for helping make our racing program a success again.
The 2019 racing schedule will continue to include Wine Cooler Races most Monday evenings with Gal’s as Skippers, Beer Can Races on Wednesday nights, and our Buoy Racing on Saturdays.
Engraved racing trophy tankards are awarded at the October social following each racing season. Remember these are stored in Commodore Emeritus Jurgensen’s garage, so condition should be suspect. Captain Morgan stains are to be expected if you are tardy in picking up your trophy.
Don’t Know What Those Colored Flags and Horns Mean? Don’t Know Which Way To Sail After The Start? No Worries!
If you are a beginning racer or a volunteer member of the Racing Committee, click on the link to view and print the published sailing instructions — PPYC Sailing Instructions (PDF Format). Racing and even running the race is easier than you’d imagine. For more information on the rules governing our races click here – ISAF Racing Rules.
Looking for Race Volunteers…
You can always find a way to participate in the PPYC racing program. Volunteer to crew or help run the race from the committee boat. Experience not required and no one is ever left at the dock!
