EF-1 Tornado at Smithville Lake —- Sailboat Cove and Dry Sail NOT Impacted

PPYC Sailors
There was a possible Tornado / High Winds at the Skeet Shooting area and nearby Campground;
with substantial damage to the Clubhouse and a few camping trailers overturned.
Our Areas appear to be just fine, the current South Winds are mitigated by the hillside.
Damage surveys from the National Weather Service in Kansas City have confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down near Smithville Lake around 10:10 Tuesday morning with peak winds of 95 miles per hour.

Ahoy Sailors, (Captains & Admirals)

It appears we have about 60 folks coming to the party Saturday. John Miller has done a great job getting his caterer Roxanne to work her Magic!

I’d like to ask all to be sure and get a name tag, also I have some STAR stickers for Members that have joined in the last year. Please be sure and give them a special WELCOME!

Note: Shirts and Calendars will be available for $15. (Shirts will return to $25 after the party, We have limited sizes and colors)

Please, If possible bring a check for Club Dues; so Bill Blackwood can get this part of his “duties” behind him.

See you all there,
